In the case that the state became increasingly large and was too much for one ruler to oversee, Satrapies were used to help govern the empires
Satrapies were extensioins of the government who were assigned an individule part of the state to govern and oversee for the ruler. Because soo much power was giver to these strapies, they were often checked up on by imperial spies called The Eyes of the King and also were constantly under the supervision the imperial army.
Early rulers of an empire usually had a pervious military experiance as they acquired other empires by force. After inital conquests, if the empire was not conqured again, the system of monarchy was used to decide the next rightful heir to the thrown

The Achaemenids Empire: The Archaemendid Empire was the first great persian empire. It began under Cyrus after he won the legenday battle against Creosus. The Empire lasted from about 558 to 330 B.C.E and had many rulers altough amoung the most beneficial to this empire was the ruler Darius, under whom the empire flourished.
After the endless warring as a result of the Persian Wars, Alexander the Great was able to take over the Achaemenid soceity, although his empire only lasted until his death, when it was split into three differnt empires.
Once the empire of ALexander the Great Frell it was devided into three deperate empires, The Sasinds, the Parthinas, and the Selecuid empires.
The Sasanid Empire was a late persian dynasty that lasted from about 224 B.C.E to 651 C.E. It reached its economical and political peak under the ruler hapur I although would later fall to Arabic expansion
Parthian- The Parthian was a Persian dynasty that lasted from about 247 B.C.E to 224 C.E. It reached its economical peak under the rule of Mithadates the first.
Seleucids- A Persian Dynasty that lasted from about 323 to 83 B.E.C and was founded by a group called the Seleucids after the death of Alexander of Macedon.

Revolts and revolutions
There were regular conquests and attacks although most came from outside of the empire. some of these such conquests were: * The first conquest of this time was made when Cyrus conqured the empire of Lyndia under the ruler of Croesus. Cyrus then created the Acheamenid Empire.
The Persian wars were also a time much violence as they were caused when the Ionian cities rebelled and asserted independance. This launched a domino effect and caused the Persian Wars, which would last from 500 to 479 B.C.E
After the ongoing battle between the greeks and persians, Alexander the Great managed to weaked the Achaemenid at the battle of Gaugamela, and managed to dissolve the empire in about one year and enstate himself as the rightful heir to the thrown of Acheamenid.
After the collapse of the Achaemenid society at the death of Alexander the Great, his empire was split intot three sections, The Seleucisds, The Parthiansa, and The Sasanids.
The Sasanids conqured the Parthiansa in about 224 C.E. The Sasanids also were in constant conflict with Kushan, Byzantine, and Roman empires. Although one was never strong enough to conqure the other, the constant conflict searioulsy damaged the empires, the Sasanids being most effected.
